Gather Heritage Farm is a veteran owned and operated heritage farm in Western North Carolina. Nestled at the base of Razor Mountain in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, we are 18 minutes north of the eclectic city of Asheville in a small town called Barnardsville.
Gather prides itself on being a sustainable and renewable agricultural farm, with a mission of providing educational opportunities for those interested in heritage homesteading. Furthermore, as a veteran owned business, our mission is to also provide skills, training, and resources to service members coming off active duty or current veterans with a desire for fulfilling their own homestead dreams and careers.
With everything from bees to cattle, we locate and bring these traditional livestock breeds to our farm. You would find many of these heritage animals on the homesteads of our great grandparents hundreds (and even thousands) of years ago. These are the breeds that have lost interest due to modern, industrial agricultural practice. Some of the prominent characteristics of our animals are their natural ability to forage on pasture, incredible maternal instincts, natural breeding and birthing, and resistance to environment disease and common parasites.
Our heritage livestock and poultry are available to add to your homestead seasonally. We, also, raise ADGA registered Nigerian Dwarf milk goats! We love this breed, their delicious milk, and will have spring kids available in 2019!
Come see for yourself! The pictures do not do this 10-acre, pesticide free farm justice!
